The next AUDAX 300km is on May 19 2018. The ride will take you into the heart of Malaysia and will provide a mix of distance, hills and most likely some intense heat. This will be the final AUDAX ride before the AUDAX 600km which will be held on June 9-10 so if you plan on doing that one it is advised you get some big legs on this ride. Riders will have a total of 20 hours to complete the AUDAX 300km.
You can get the route and the .GPX file here
The registration will begin at 4am at United Square Starbucks and we will roll at 4:30am sharp. When you get to Starbucks please make sure to register and pay as we will not know who actually shows up as some people sign up and don’t show up for a variety of reasons. All riders must start and register at United Square Starbucks and you can finish at the official stop at Brewerkz on Riverside Point or you can email your Strava result to email@example.com within a few days of ride completion. The results will be sent to Audax Club Parisien for processing within a week of the ride. You can sign up here
What to bring?
You will need to bring your passport, EP, PR or other cards or things that it takes you to cross the border into Malaysia. You should also bring some Malaysian Ringgit to buy water and drinks along the way. Ideally your bike will be in good condition and you should bring some spare tubes, cO2, food and energy supplies and good tires. As we are rolling early it is advised to have good strong lights to guide you along the way. There are many petrol stations that you can refill at along the way.
You can see it on the Strava link above but in general it is a nice ride. A great mix of distance, hills and beautiful scenery. The ride is mostly flat until KM 110 and then it gets a bit lumpy for 50km until you reach the city of Kluang where we normally lunch. From Kluang we head to the Kulai Hills which we hit at approximately 230km….save some legs. Also there were a lot of new and fast riders on the 200km on April 21 so please make sure you pace yourself to avoid blowing up. This ride has a lot of hills. It is always advised to ride within your own limits as you may blow up if you ride above your limits to hang onto a wheel. The good news is that Grab will take you back to the border from almost everywhere on this route.
