The next AUDAX ride is the AUDAX 200km on April 21, 2018. The ride will begin at Starbucks at United Square. The ride registration and briefing will start at 4am and the ride will roll at 4:30 sharp. Remember to bring your passports, EP, PR and anything else you need to cross the border into Malaysia. The route and the .GPX file can be found here https://www.strava.com/activities/1307477314
Riders will have a total of 13 hours to complete the 200km distance. It is ideal to bring suntan lotion, some Malaysian Ringgit, food to last at least 100km, tubes, cO2, a tire (roads are rougher that Singapore, especially in Kulai town) and tools to repair your bike on the road. There are plenty of petrol stations to refill water and buy snacks. It is ideal to ride within your own limits as you will avoid blowing up if you ride too fast. In addition, you can also use Grab if you have any major problems and need to get back to Singapore.
In May 2018 we will have the AUDAX 300km which is the last AUDAX ride before the monstrous AUDAX 600km on June 9-10th. For those doing PBP in 2019 this ride will enable you to register early for one of the limited 6300 spots for PBP 2019. We will have Hafiz the Safety Driver to follow behind the group, so it is safer to ride into the night on the roads in Malaysia. Typically, we will ride 380km until we get to Kluang where many riders check into the Imperial Hotel for a quick shower and nap. There are plenty of food places in Kluang to eat a real meal. In the past two years we arrive in Kluang at 7pm on the Saturday night. Note there is an extra fee for the safety vehicle for this ride.
More information about all these rides will be out shortly.
The AUDAX 600 km route is one of the nicest rides of the year. Check it out here. https://www.strava.com/activities/598839293
