The next AUDAX 200km BRM is on February 10 2018. You can register here SIGN UP NOW
The ride will start at the usual United Square Starbucks. Registration starts at 4:15 and we will roll at 5am sharp.
The route will follow the Patrick Williams 200km Route. This is a nice route with some quiet roads and some good rolling hill climbing. The last 200km in December we had a nice group of 25 riders who all stuck together and helped fix punctures. If you get a flat along the way throw your arm up and hopefully some of those nice people will stop and help you. The ride must be completed in 13h:30m. The ride will finish at Brewerkz Riverside Point where you can get some well deserved food and beverages after a long ride.
KOM Challenge
On the recent 300km we had a number of racers and Steven Hon. Be careful about riding with people who faster than you as you could blow up in remote places like Kluang. #me Steven did a solo break at the start to take the Coconut Stand KOM on the AUDAX 300km. The KOM for this ride will once again be at the Coconut Stand after the Kulai hills. The first person there will receive a Singapore AUDAX jersey. The second person there will get socks and they will verify who the first person was. 🙂 The route below is the route and you can download the .GPX file if you have not done the route before.
What to Bring?
You should bring everything you need to get over the border into Malaysia; PR, EP, Passport, return flight ticket for people who do not live in Singapore. In addition, you should bring enough food to cover you for at least 100km. There are a few petrol stations that you can get water and basic food from along the way. It is usually good to bring some Malaysia Ringgit to buy stuff or a friend with some Malaysian Ringgit. It is a good idea to bring some suntan lotion and for one of your friends to bring a spare tire.

This was the first 200km after PBP in 2011. Many people took months off the bike after PBP 2011.
Bike
It is dark when we start so make sure you have some decent lights. In addition, the roads from KM 110 to KM 138 are really dreadful so make sure you have good tires and a few tubes just in case. Don’t bring your tubular wheels #DanLangloisRule
If you planning on doing the AUDAX 400km on March 17, 2018 you really should do this one. The 400km is the hardest of the AUDAX series because you have only 27 hours to do the distance and it is long….the 600km is a bit easier if you stop for a break in Kluang (shower, sleep, pizza and maybe even one or two beers) and then get rolling again Sunday morning. Others like Steven Hon keep on pedaling through the night.
The ride is S$5 for members and S$25 for non members. If you have ridden with us as a non member it is better to join and save money….even more if you buy jerseys as you save a lot by being a member.
I have ordered all the 200, 300 and 600km medallions and hopefully they will arrive beforehand. If they do we will have them at the registration. If you want medallions and have completed the distance they are S$25 each.
See you on the 10th of February!
