The next AUDAX ride is set for Jan 20 2018. The route is here https://www.strava.com/activities/682474017
You can download the .GPX file here. this route is really nice as it has at least 90km of non-busy beautiful roads.
Remember to bring your passport, EP, PR, etc or whatever it takes to get you over the border. This route is an amazing route that includes hills. Typically we will arrive in Kluang at KM 160 where we can have a nice early lunch. Kluang has a wide variety of food choice and really you only have 140km left when you arrive in Kluang. Don’t blow your energy levels though as the Kulai hills after 230km. You can sign up sign up here
Riders will have 20 hours to complete the full 300km. The starting point is at United Square Starbucks. We will have a ride briefing at 4am and we will roll at 4:30 am. The reason we will leave earlier than usual is to beat the 6am crowd at the border. For the finish, when you cross the border you are technically finished so you can go directly home and send the time to jeff@singaporeaudax.com afterwards. Strava link is ideal as it includes elapsed time which is what we use to measure. Once again we operate on the honesty principle so please be honest 🙂 ON that note, special kudos to Achmad Mudjadid who recently did the 600km ride. It took him 50 + hours to finish 600km….and while it is outside the 40 hour time limit congratulations on finishing the full distance….there are two more 600km rides this year so maybe come out and try again Achmad! A+ for honesty.
Riders should ensure that their bikes are in good condition for the ride. It is usually advisable to bring a spare tube and a friend who will bring a spare tire. There are plenty of places to stop for food and drinks but it is wise to bring enough fuel to cover at least 100km. Most of the stops are petrol stations except in Kluang where there are real places to eat.
