On June 4/5 we will be starting the AUDAX 600km ride at 0330 am on Saturday morning. The reason we do this earlier start is to finish just after lunch Sunday giving people time for their families or to just relax ahead of the new week. Start Place
As usual, we will start at the Starbucks at United Square. The ride briefing will be at 3:15am and we roll sharply at 0330. You will want the extra few minutes to put your stuff in the vehicle, etc.
Starbucks at Novena/United Square is open 24 hours, has plenty of seating, and there is a 7-11 there which is also open 24 hours….so this is the closest place that holds lots of bodies and has decent food/drink for early birds. United Square – 101 Thomson Road #01-01 United Square Singapore 307591
Riders have a total of 40 hours to finish the ride which ends at Brewerkz on Riverside Point in Singapore.

The Route
Patrick Williams has posted the .GPX file here on the FB page FACEBOOK PAGE
Please download it from the Facebook page and put it in your Garmin.
What to bring?
Small bag with an extra kit to change into after our stop and rest at approximately 380km. It is usually advised to bring food you like as you need to eat a lot to fuel your 600km ride. I typically bring a lasagna for example…bring whatever it takes to make you roll.
– Bring Malaysian Ringgit
– passport, EP, PR or whatever it takes to get across the border
– Co2s
– tubes
– charger for Garmin and phone
– gels, bars and whatever feul
– spare tire is not a bad idea but it is also best to check your tires before the ride
– good lights, we will be riding many hours in the dark
– Chamois cream
The Stop
We will be stopping in Kluang after approximately 380km. Kluang is the city with our normal lunch stop on the 300km. There are a number of hotels there and we are looking at this 2 star delight Hotel in Kluang
Costs
There is no ride fee for this but we need to split the cost of the safety support vehicle equally among the riders. The total cost for the vehicle, driver and drinks is MYR 2,500. This is very reasonable given it is two days of hard efforts supporting our safety on the road. You will need to pay for the hotel in Kluang but it is usually dirt cheap and worth it for the shower and the bit of rest you will get. If you want the medallions then that fee applies as I need to buy them. We will have Hafiz the driver (pictured below in 2010) and you can add his mobile number to your phone when you meet him.
Can you do it?
Yes….these people did! All of them have subsequently gone on to do Paris-Brest-Paris too!
