Haze Free 200

09.10.2015

Two haze free days in a row…will it be three?   If the haze is less than 100 PSI tomorrow at 4am we will roll for another Audax 200km.  This may likely be a small group and slower than usual given fatigue, PBP recovery and given that some may have not been riding due to excessive haze.

The ride briefing will start at 0500 and the group will roll @ 5:30 sharp. This ride will take you across the border at Woodlands and into beautiful Malaysia where you will experience first-hand the hills of Kulai and loop around the famous J94 rollers, a popular Strava segment and a lovely section of road where you can enjoy uninterrupted cycling!  Bring your passport and if you are from out of town then bring your return air tickets.

Start Place
Longhouse has been closed- so we are meeting at Starbucks near Novena:

Starbucks at Novena/United Square is open 24 hours, has plenty of seating, and there is a 7-11 there which is also open 24 hours….so this is the closest place that holds lots of bodies and has decent food/drink for early birds.  United Square – 101 Thomson Road #01-01 United Square Singapore 307591

What to bring?
You should bring some Malaysian Ringgit along with your passport. There will be one stop at a Petronas gas station where you may want to fill your bottles and buy some food.  There is also a second stop at Shell near the final stretch to the border.   Bring your IC and passport to get across the border. In addition, you should bring food/gels/water enough for at least 100km of riding…it is always better to have too much than not enough food and drink. Tubes, pumps, CO2 cartridges are all recommended. Remember that AUDAX rides are self supported…you can still help other people out but you cannot get assistance from people in motor vehicles. Please ensure that you have insurance to cover yourself in case of emergency.
