This weekend is the double header….we will be doing a 300km and a 400km BRM. All of these rides are qualifying rides for PBP 2019. All of the rides start at United Square Starbucks and all of the rides start rolling at 4:30am SHARP. Note that the registration opens at 3:50am. You need to check in and register to be counted for an official finish. This is also the final ride before PBP which takes place next month in France. Sign Up Here
The routes:
The routes are the standard AUDAX 300 km route (download below) plus the final 100km to be finished in Singapore for those doing the 400km. To be family friendly you can make your own final route to finish near your home. As per usual, please email jeff@singaporeaudax.com your ELAPSED TIME when you are done. Note that you have 20 hours to finish the 300km route and 27 hours total to complete the 400km route.
The 300km route is very nice with a mix of hills and thrills. At KM 160 you should reach Kluang which has plenty of nice food choices.
GPX
- The AUDAX 300km route can be found here
- For the 400km you will do the full 300km route and then you can do the final 100km in Singapore to finish hopefully somewhere near your home. The nice thing about being home in SG at the end of a long day there are loads of food options that cater to all people on earth!
When you are done you can email the ELAPSED TIME to jeff@singaporeaudax.com. Please do send the elapsed time as the moving time is not useful.
What to bring:
Bring your passport, EP, PR etc or whatever it takes you to legally get across the border into Malaysia. We have found that by leaving at 4:30 from Starbucks the lines at the border tend to be smaller. You should also have strong tires, extra tubes, food to last at least 75km and anything to fix your bike along the way. At Kluang we normally arrive at lunch time and there are lots of choices of food to load up on before heading towards Kulai. Normally we hit the Kulia hills at 240km. Bring some Malaysian Ringgit and there are plenty of places to buy water and light snacks along the way.
Ride safe, call out holes and if you puncture on the highway throw your hand in the air and ideally some nice people will stop to help you fix the puncture.
